Hostel Stop, Initially known as a landmark for the local people has its footsteps that we missed on our way here. From the Lankans immigration to a glimpse of women empowerment, a lot has happened in the past.
Imagine you are in the 1960s, with lesser noise pollution and a handful of people marching to work that is how you realize the impact of the industrial revolution even in a small city like this. No one would have thought this sight of man-machine work would have its impact over decades. Home to many factories and industries such as Simco, Ordnance Factory Tiruchirappalli the need for manpower hasn’t gone downhill in years.
This need demanded work and labor, the Civil war forced immigration became fortunate for Ceylon Tamil in a way that they feed coals to the factory fires. During this time, most of the people from Lanka stayed around this place in many hostels and lodges.

To accompany the immigrant crowd the local brahmins and Hindus opened many lodges and hostels to stay. People went to the extreme that they started to rent a room in their houses.
