The PRISM I Witnessed: My Experience Of Being A Fresher

On 14TH December our dept organized PRISM 2k19 which is a departmental intercollegiate competition and the inaugural function started at 9.45. The chief guest for the function was Mr. M. Gunasekaran, chief editor (news 18 Tamil) he is an experienced person in the journalism field.

The guest was welcomed by our folk dancers with parai. The inaugural function was held at drawing studio students from the various college were made to assemble there. The prayer song was sung by the gathering and a welcome dance that was full of grace and vibrance was performed by Mirdula and Danashree. The department VP Felix enlightened the lamp which was followed by Ms. Teresa, Ms. Malini.

The chief guest addressed the crowd gathering where shared various information and facts on media, history of media and mobile addiction and he quoted “You don’t need to be a giant company or organization to success if you have created you can succeed in any field.” With a bit of delay, the events started. 9 events were organized in which 3 were online events. The events include Face painting, Feature writing, RJ, Elocution, Doodle, Meme. The events were on a full flow

The Theme for the Dept. fest was “Retro” where students were asked to wear retro-styled costumes

The 1st event of the Department Festival started, Face painting (Using paint and other materials to paint to the theme) which was then followed by Feature writing(Writing a feature article/story based on the theme), RJ hunt(participants to, Elocution, Meme creation. The results were announced at the end of events and certificates were given during the valedictory function.

At 2:30 the valedictory function started, certificates were given and the event was about to end with the vote of thanks and all the students and staff danced to their joy which made the event fulfilling. Prism 2019 ended up healthy.
